INSTRUCTION SHEET TO BRING TO AUDIOLOGIST
Please use a slim otoblock. If you do not have a slim otoblock then carefully tear the full one in half and tie the string in a knot.
You must use silicone impression material. Powder and liquid impressions will not be approved for manufacturing.
You must take an open mouth impression. A bite block is preferred. However, if you do not have a bite block then have the patient wrap two fingers in paper towel and stick them vertically between their two front teeth. This will keep them from closing their mouth.
Fill the entire canal canal, and overfill the concha and helix area.
Press on the impression material immediately after taking the impression. I know you were probably taught not to do that but with these molds you must press down the material.
Impressions must be:
Past the second bend
Overfilled to
show depth especially in concha area
Have full helix/anti helix
Impression material must touch otoblock
